Staff Embedded C++ Software Engineer (Robotics)
The Staff Embedded C++ Software Engineer (Robotics) will support high-priority autonomous robot systems at a major warehouse automation client through development, 61508 certification, and field testing phases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
路 Work in a fast-paced cross-functional team
路 Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and make critical design decisions
路 Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, code review, unit testing, integration, and verification
路 Create and maintain detailed software documentation
路 Execute in accordance with technical direction from senior team members as well as work independently on assignments
路 Develop features, components, and infrastructure for autonomous robot systems
路 Create/execute Unit Tests, Functional Integration Tests, and Safety Assessment activities
路 Develop diagnostics, test code, and utilities to support certification
路 Support documentation and field testing activities
REQUIRED SKILLS:
路 3+ years experience with embedded systems programming (C/C++, Rust)
路 Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
路 Knowledge of microcontroller programming and hardware interfaces
路 Understanding of memory constraints and optimization techniques
路 Experience with embedded debugging tools and techniques
路 Experience designing, developing and testing production-level embedded software in C++ for safety-critical systems
路 Understanding of real-time concepts, thread synchronization, memory management, and performance tuning on Linux
路 Experience with modern SDLC processes (unit testing, static analysis, CI/CD)
路 Familiarity with modern software development tools (Git, SVN, or other industry-standard source control)
路 Experience using Agile techniques, including task / issue management
路 Demonstrated commitment to high quality
路 Strong oral and written communication skills
路 Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
路 Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
路 Experience with industrial safety standards and designing software for functional safety
