The Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group is at the forefront of developing products that power the largest networks in the world. The networking industry is going through an extensive transformation to build the next generation infrastructure. The products developed by the DSE group are designed to support large-scale web and service provider environments, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. Your Impact

• Develop and integrate products that are deployed by some of the leading enterprises in the world

• Works independently but receives minimal guidance and direction from leader then determines best approach to accomplish work.  

• Opportunity to lead delivery of high-quality design of features and deliverables.

• Writes functional clean code and unit tests with no guidance.  Maintains and enhances solutions by fixing complicated errors, raising risks, and escalating issues where necessary.

• Shares knowledge across teams, both informally and formally (e.g., ad-hoc basis, internal presentations, blogs, newsletters). Mentors peers or more junior team members

• Coordinates across teams to estimate times and complete projects according to specification and user requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

•                     BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/MS in CS/EE/IT/ECE, MCA, or similar education.

•                     Bachelors + 10 years of related experience OR Masters + 2 years of related experience OR PhD + 1 year of related experience.

•                     Experience in developing software for networking equipment in management and/or control/data plane.

•                     Ability to derive design and code based on technical standards, write comprehensive and focused design documents, and drive software architecture and system design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong C programming experience

• Strong networking experience in L2 / L3 / MPLS / ACL / QOS

• Good understanding of networking architecture / OS fundamentals and algorithms
