Senior Qt and C++ Developer - TiMax

TiMax are pioneers of the rapidly expanding sector of immersive sound experiences. We are focused on high-channel count, spatial audio sound reinforcement solutions for theatre, opera, musical theatre, live music events, festivals, corporate events and more!
The Role:
- This is an exciting time to join our TiMax Spatial Software team. We are looking for a Senior Qt and C++ Developer to work with us to create the software that brings our industry-leading spatial audio processor to life!
- The role will require work on a cross-platform application, from high-level user interfaces, down to lower-level networking protocols, and the layers of abstraction and concurrency that tie it all together.
- As part of an Agile team that iterates and responds to user feedback, you will contribute to ideas that shape our products and continually improve team best practices!
Skills and experience required:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A highly developed interest in providing slick and attractive interfaces and workflows to users and will seek satisfaction in delivering an amazing product backed up with elegant code.
- Experience designing and specifying software architecture, defining a system's overall structure and behaviour.
- Experience working in a product team with Product Owners and Designers.
- Experience leading a software development team.
- Strong C++ and Standard Library knowledge with at least 5 years software engineering experience on commercial products.
- The ability to program in C++20 and use MacOS and Windows operating systems.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design and architecture techniques with experience in implementing design patterns.
- Proven ability in solving complex problems, debugging, and profiling.
- Experience of UI design and frameworks such Qt.
- Experience using collaborative tools and CI/CD systems (Git, Miro, Figma).
- Masters level knowledge in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline and relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills, accuracy and ability to draft clear documentation.
Desirable experience and knowledge:
- Knowledge of OSC, MIDI, music control systems / DAWs.
- Experience with audio processing and a genuine interest in the music industry.
Work location and job conditions:
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week over the standard working hours of 8.45am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4pm on Friday. An hour is allowed for lunch Monday to Thursday and 45 minutes on Friday. This is a hybrid role, when in the office you will be based at Tileyard, London, N7.
