 Location: Bethesda, MD

 Employment Type: Contract

Job Purpose:

The C++ Developer will design and develop software components to extract data from DB2 databases on mainframe systems and convert the data into XML format for downstream processing. The role includes ensuring software quality through testing and maintenance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop C/C++ components in line with project standards (60%)
  • Conduct unit testing and integration testing during development (20%)
  • Perform code maintenance to resolve issues identified during IBM and customer testing, as well as production support (10%)
  • Document software design and code thoroughly (10%)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of C++ development experience
  • 8+ years of SQL development experience
  • 7+ years of XML and XSLT development experience
  • 5+ years working with DB2 development
  • 4+ years experience using mainframe environments
  • 4+ years experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • 4+ years experience with Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with COBOL programming
  • Experience with Java and JEE development
  • DB2 database administration skills
